My Philosophy
The doctor-patient relationship is the foundation of my approach to care, and I want to know each of my patients as a whole individual. This means understanding not only your medical history and health goals but also the sources of meaning and fulfillment in your life, the people and communities with whom you feel connected, and the passions and activities you live for.
To foster this relationship, my practice is structured to allow ample time for visits and regular check-ins as we navigate your health priorities together. As a board-certified internist with a background in fitness and nutrition coaching and advanced training in psychology, my approach integrates both conventional and functional medicine, drawing on each as needed. By combining core lifestyle factors—nutrition, exercise, sleep, and emotional health—with the advanced testing and treatment that modern medicine offers, I aim to not only address your current health concerns but also anticipate and prevent future issues.
My Background
I was born and raised in Los Gatos, CA, and completed my undergraduate studies at Santa Clara University, where I played water polo and majored in public health sciences. While I considered pursuing a career in public health, my passion for one-on-one relationships with patients led me to pursue a medical degree. After a brief stint on the East Coast for medical school at Georgetown University, I returned to the Bay Area for residency in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). I completed both my residency and chief residency at UCSF before joining the faculty, during which time I had the privilege of caring for patients, teaching medical students and residents, and conducting research on clinical decision-making and teaching. After several years in the academic setting, I longed for a more personalized, hands-on approach to patient care—one that allows me the time and space to truly get to know my patients, their concerns, and their priorities––which led to the founding of Kuros Medical.
